WOW! Kia Scherr on CNN

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

OMG – just saw an interview with Kia Scherr on CNN’s Rick Sanchez show and all I can say is…wow!  A beautiful, gentle angel was up on the screen and Rick Sanchez barely knew what to do with her.

Her husband and daughter, Alan and Naomi Scherr, were killed in last year’s Mumbai attacks.  She says she forgives the attackers.  She has been a lifelong meditator and said this was a time to put to use her 36 years of practice.  She was a gentle soul filled with loving kindness.  Sanchez was almost trying to bait her into feeling hatred for the attackers and she simply wouldn’t go there.

It pains me to say this but if there is any silver lining in what happened, it is having such a beautiful soul as a spokesperson for forgiveness and compassion.  She shared a Cherokee story even though Sanchez kept trying to rile her up.  It’s a grandson asking his grandfather what to do about the betrayal he was feeling towards a friend.  The grandfather’s reply was each person has a wolf inside them – one hungry and ready for the kill and another lounging in gentle compassion and peace.  The grandson asked which wolf wins out in the end.  Grandfather replied, “whichever one you feed.”

Watching this woman speak was really like watching a live angel in action.  It was breathtaking and beautiful.

I send Kia Scherr much love & light.  What a glittering jewel to have emerged from the ruins of such devastation and destruction.  And, thank you for filling my house with your light too.  I appreciate it.  Funny, I never ever have CNN on mid-day and only did because it’s a boring bad weather day.
